My Response To Christopher Titmuss
On His Comment To Why I Choose To Vaccinate
The other day I made a post on my Facebook page entitled “I’m Vaccinated, And No, I Don’t Know What’s In It”. Among the well over 100 comments, I was surprised and honored when I saw that senior western Dharma teacher Christopher Titmuss left a comment, which he then re-posted on his blog. Below I am posting his full comment and my response… and his subsequently admirable follow-up response. For context, you can see my original blog post here.
I’m vaccinated And, No, I Don’t Know What’s In It
By Anonymous (but I agree)
I’m vaccinated and, no, I don’t know what’s in it – neither this vaccine, the ones I had as a child, nor in the Big Mac, or hot dogs I used to eat, or in other treatments…whether it’s for cancer, AIDS, the one for polyarthritis, or vaccines for infants or children. I trust my doctor when she says it’s needed. I also don’t know what’s in Ibuprofen, Tylenol, or other meds, they just cure my headaches & my pains …

The Shu-Ha-Ri Dialogues
The “Shu-Ha-Ri Dialogues” series started on a lark when I reached out to Ellis Amdur Sensei for his thoughts on the way I was using these 3 stages as a teaching model in my dojo. That short interaction between Ellis and I morphed into some 360 participants, in 6 sessions, with over 10 hours of dialogues between myself and 4 other Koryu and Aikido teachers. On Sunday, Feb. 28th the “Shu-Ha-Ri Dialogues” series culminated with an all sensei panel discussion.
The Blueprint Of Development
Miles Kessler Sensei - "Shu-Ha-Ri Dialogues"
Growth and development often follow the trajectory of your personal life stories. Stories that are life lessons which profoundly shaped who you are. My own path of “Shu-Ha-Ri” (3 Stages Of Mastery In Traditional Martial Arts) mirrors my personal story as a dual practice lineage holder in Aikido and Buddhist meditation. A life trajectory that shaped how I see “Shu-Ha-Ri” as a universal map of development. In fact, it is the blueprint of development.
