Meditation Coaching For Coaches

With "Wellbeing" Expert Celynn Morin

Last fall I offered free meditation coaching sessions to a limited number of people in my audience.  Those who participated were a varied group of meditators that ranged from novice to experienced that included therapists and leadership trainers, martial artists and dancers, people who follow traditional meditation schools, and people who had an eclectic collection of meditation methods. In the following coaching demo, I work with Celynn Morin who is herself, a wellbeing coach.

The Purpose Of Meditation Coaching Demonstrations

The purpose of these meditation coaching demonstrations is 2-fold;

  1. To demonstrate the value of having a guide to work with in your meditation practice, and
  2. How I specifically work with meditators in their practice.

The following meditation coaching demonstration is a good example of both. And the fact that Celynn is also a coach who regularly works with people made the session both precise and fun.

Meditation Coaching A Coach

Celynn Morin is a “wellbeing” expert, coach, professional speaker, and author. Her strength is creating awareness and igniting better lifestyle choices that help individuals and organizational teams stay resilient and sustain high performance.

Celynn’s meditation practice includes formal study with teachers, most currently with Dr. Joe Despensa. Her practice includes sitting for 30 min. to 1 hour a day, most of the days of the week.

In this session, Celynee demonstrates a finely tuned intuitive sense of her inner process, with a highly refined experience of the “subtle self.” She reports with clarity subtle body experiences, which also include out of body experiences.

In our session, we dialed-in on the specific details of the process of Celynn’s practice which include:

  • The difference between concentration-based meditation, and mindfulness-based meditation.
  • Making a distinction between “applying a meditation method” vs. allowing the natural flow of the practice.
  • The value of reporting on experiences phenomenologically, rather than conceptually.
  • Taking the observer as an object (turning mindfulness on the observer); the how, and when.
  • How to work with personal issues from elevated meditative states.
